Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

This page describes the privacy practices of the Maneiro for RevolutionEHR Chrome extension. It supplements our main Privacy Policy and is the privacy disclosure referenced on our Chrome Web Store listing.

Maneiro is a clinical intelligence layer built for eye care professionals. The extension reads data from RevolutionEHR only while a clinician is signed in to RevolutionEHR in their own browser, only on clinical pages, and only to deliver clinical decision support to that clinician.

Single Purpose

The Maneiro extension exists for one purpose: to surface clinical intelligence (recommendations, structured plans, handover briefings, scribe transcripts, recalls, and encounter summaries) inside the RevolutionEHR workflow that eye care clinicians already use. Every feature of the extension serves that purpose.

Data the Extension Accesses

When you are signed in to RevolutionEHR in your browser and visit a patient chart, the extension may access the following categories of data from the page you are viewing:

Clinical data on the active patient chart: exam findings, visual acuity, intraocular pressure, refraction, diagnoses, medications, history, care plan fields, letters, and related encounter data visible on the chart.
Your clinician profile: username and provider identity, used to route recommendations and letters to the correct account.
Audio from your microphone: only while you explicitly start a scribe recording session and only during that session. Recording is gated by an explicit in-extension consent prompt.
Active tab URL and title: used to determine whether the extension is on a RevolutionEHR page and which patient chart is active.

Data the Extension Does NOT Access

Your browsing on any site other than RevolutionEHR and app.maneiro.ai.
Passwords, banking information, or data from unrelated tabs.
Your microphone outside of an explicit scribe recording session.
Any data before you have signed in to your Maneiro account.

Where Data Is Transmitted

Clinical data read by the extension is transmitted only to the Maneiro backend at https://app.maneiro.ai, over TLS, authenticated to your clinician account. During active scribe sessions, audio is streamed in real time to wss://api.deepgram.com for speech-to-text transcription; no audio is retained by the transcription provider after the stream ends. Transcripts and derived structured data are stored by Maneiro and associated with the active patient encounter.

Storage, Retention, and Security

Data transmitted to Maneiro is stored in encrypted form in our clinical infrastructure hosted in Canada. Access is restricted to authorized Maneiro infrastructure and to the clinicians and organizations that generated the data. We do not sell, rent, or share clinical data with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketers. Our posture is HIPAA-comparable and PIPEDA/PHIPA-aligned; a Business Associate Agreement or Data Processing Agreement is available for customer organizations that request one.

User Controls

You can disable the extension at any time from chrome://extensions.
Scribe recording requires an explicit in-extension consent click; no audio is captured otherwise.
Data write-backs to RevolutionEHR require explicit clinician confirmation; the extension never writes silently.
You can request deletion of your Maneiro account and associated data by contacting support@maneiro.ai.

Third-Party Services

The extension uses Deepgram (deepgram.com) as a real-time speech-to-text provider during active scribe sessions. Deepgram processes audio streams on Maneiro's behalf and does not retain audio after transcription. No other third-party services receive data directly from the extension.

Permissions Justification

The extension requests the following browser permissions, each used only for the purpose described:

activeTab, tabs, windows: detect the active RevolutionEHR tab and route messages to the correct patient chart.
storage: cache your Maneiro session, organization key, and UI preferences locally in your browser.
scripting: inject the Maneiro sidecar UI into RevolutionEHR pages.
sidePanel: render the optional side panel view of the Maneiro widget.
offscreen: run the audio capture pipeline in a dedicated document during scribe sessions.
alarms: run lightweight periodic keep-alive and cleanup tasks inside the extension service worker.
host permissions (revolutionehr.com, revolutionehr.ca): required for the extension to function on the RevolutionEHR application.
host permissions (app.maneiro.ai): required to communicate with the Maneiro backend.
host permissions (api.deepgram.com): required for real-time scribe transcription during active sessions only.

Children

The Maneiro extension is not directed at children under 13. Clinical charts processed by the extension may pertain to pediatric patients; such data is handled under the clinician's professional duty of care and the applicable healthcare privacy framework, not as consumer data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this page whenever material changes are made to the extension's data handling. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Substantial changes will also be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
